Yufeng Wang (President & CEO), along with his partners Si Chen and Naifang Ji formed the concept and business plan for Baydo Development Corporation. Baydo would be an engineering-based land and real estate developer, specializing in the design and construction of townhomes, apartment-style condominiums, commercial developments, and single-family homes.
Construction began on Baydo’s inaugural project, Stonegarden. Stonegarden proved to be a large success, as visitors, clients, and agents all had high praise for the unique and open floor plan. Designed by our President and VP of Operations, these units featured 12 foot ceilings in the main living room; and a bi-level inspired floor plan that provided ample space for homeowners. Stonegarden would act as a stepping stone for Baydo, leading into larger and unprecedented developments.
After the success of our Stonegarden project, Baydo decided to bid on a mixed-use
project in Willowgrove, the first of its kind in Saskatoon. The project was named
Gateway Plaza, and would feature 24,500 square feet of commercial space, and 48
Also in 2012, Baydo started its second townhome project, Forest Ridge. Forest Ridge included 30 units featuring over 1,800 square feet of living space, and an incredibly unique floor plan. This floor plan was named “The Chalet” and impressed homeowners with its large master suite and 15 foot vaulted ceilings in the second bedroom.
To accommodate the increased workload, Baydo purchased DOKA concrete forms and started its own in-house concrete crew, which completes structural slabs, foundation walls, grade beams, and flat work for all Baydo projects.
With strong sales at Forest Ridge, and work continuing at Gateway Plaza, Baydo purchased Lindsay Construction Ltd., which was later re-branded as Rite Choice Construction. Rite Choice is responsible for all necessary excavation and underground servicing for Baydo projects; and has become increasingly busy with various projects around Saskatoon and area.
With Forest Ridge complete and Gateway Plaza nearing completion, construction began on Baydo
Place, by far the largest project that Baydo has undertaken to date. The development includes
112 apartment-rental units, approximately 30,000 square feet of commercial/office space, and
will be home to Baydo’s corporate headquarters.
Construction also began on Juniper Ridge, Baydo’s next townhome project. The development featured 16 units, with a combination of the popular “Chalet” units, along with a brand new, scaled-back version of the floor plan, which was named “The Maddux”.
Finally, Baydo expanded its product offering to include single-family homes! All of the same quality products, attention to detail, and unique designs that clients have come to expect from Baydo were incorporated into single-family dwellings. The first home is expected to be complete in the summer of 2015.
After 5 years Baydo has come full circle, returning to the floor plan that launched its initial success. Baydo’s latest townhome development, Aspen Pointe, will feature the same layout that made Stonegarden so popular. However, some significant adjustments have been made, making the layout feel larger and grander than ever.
Baydo Development Corporation completed Baydo Place development in 2016. The development includes 112 apartment – rental units, and approximately 30,000.00 square feet in commercial space. 90% of the rental units have been rented out, more than 70% of the commercial space has been leased out. Commercial tenants include; Lifebridge Health Centre, Saskatoon Naturopathic Medicine, Gentle Procedures Clinic, The Ultrasound Gallery, Armstrong’s Physiotherapy Clinic, Baydo Development Corporation , Weber Financial, Burnt Orange and The MLA office of Ms. Bronwyn Eyre of the Saskatchewan Party.
After the completion of Baydo Place, construction began for Parkside Flats and Lake’s Edge Villas in the City of Martensville. Coming soon to the market will be 47 rental units in the Parkside Flats apartments and 40 units in the Lake’s Edge Villas townhouses.
Baydo Development Corporation has also finished a townhouse project called Aspen Point. In the urban village designed neighbour of Evergreen, which is one of the newest neighbours in Saskatoon. Aspen Point consists of 38 townhouses which offers 3 floor plans for the customer’s choice.
